Andrew Cuomo Hates the Bay

Gov. Andrew Cuomo unveiled a plan Wednesday to loosen restrictions on dairy farmers in hopes of boosting milk production to meet the needs of the state’s burgeoning yogurt industry.

Cuomo said the state plans to let farmers have up to 300 cows without needing a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations permit. The costly permit had been required for any farm with 200 or more cows, and small farmers complained the added cost prohibited them from expanding.“Changing those CAFO regs, I think, is going to send a different signal that we are serious about this and we get it, and we get the role of the state,” he said.
Those darn Rethuglicans, always working to make the environment worse, and favoring businesses over the interests of the Earth Mother.
