Beach Report, 7/22/15

A weak cool front moved through last night with a few drops of rain, but dropped the temperature from 95 to 85, with a nice drop in humidity too. Enough to bring us out to the beach.
The local Ospreys were out working. Here's one with a fine Menhaden, to take home for the kids, most likely.
A decent day for butterflies too. Here a Variegated Fritillary stops on one of the rocks on a groin.
And an American Snout on another rock nearby. I saw others as well, a couple of unknown skippers, Yellow Tigers, Spicebush, and a Red Admiral, but no one else posed for a portrait.
But this dragonfly took advantage of a Kudzu shoot to get a better view.
Cockfight!
