Reason #5462 Trump Was Elected

Last night, during President Trump’s speech before Congress, he took a moment to introduce Carryn Owens, the widow of recently slain U.S. Navy SEAL Senior Chief William ‘Ryan’ Owens. It was a truly heartbreaking moment. Mrs. Owens’ raw grief and immense pain could not be contained, and came tumbling out in one huge cathartic wave bursting forth as the chamber gave a two-minute standing ovation in honor of her husband. Like many others, all I could do was pray and hope that God would overwhelm her with the outpouring of love and compassion from those in the chamber, and from those of us watching on TV. Right then, right there.

Sadly, of course, it didn’t take long at all for the *horrible people that walk among us to accuse a Navy SEAL widow of being little more than a pawn who let herself be exploited by President Trump:
By the way, Dan Grilo, who identified himself as a Clinton campaign volunteer, and called Carryn Owens an “idiot” in the tweet above, was fired from his job today.
Controversy of President's Exploitation of Soldier for His Own Political Gain, And His Seating of That "Prop" Near His Own Family
It's unbelievable. Just unbelievable that any president would use a casualty of war like this.
Wait, that can't be what the media is talking about -- that's from Obama's 2014 State of the Union, when he wrapped himself in the flag by honoring a Ranger horrifically wounded in his tenth deployment.
Associated Press Attacks Trumps Tribute to Ryan Owens:
Response to President Trump’s speech last night has been overwhelmingly positive, and the high point of the speech was Trump’s emotional tribute to fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens and his widow, Carryn Owens. Even many Democrats (although not Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Keith Ellison) were blown away by the moment.
So the Associated Press had to spring into action to neutralize the pro-Trump tide. AP reporter Tammy Webber authored this hit piece headlined “Was Trump tribute to fallen soldier fitting or calculated?” The AP story is already popping up in newspapers across the country, as editors join in the counterattack against the president.

Ms. Webber poses the issue this way:
President Donald Trump’s tribute to fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens during Tuesday’s congressional address was seen by many as touching. But others regarded it as a calculated attempt to deflect criticism of his decision to approve a failed military operation and to turn around his administration’s shaky start with a gesture that appeared to unify a deeply divided country.
Not a lot of doubt about where Tammy stands on this one. She adds that some “…said Trump was responsible for Owens’ death and criticized the ‘exploitation of his widow for last night’s dog and pony show.'” After briefly framing the issue in that one-sided way, Webber turns to two unbiased, objective “experts”–on what?–for comment . . .
If it wasn't for double standards, they'd have none at all.
