Beach Report June 1, 2017

Another glorious late spring day at the beach, with temperatures approaching 80 F, with light winds. You can see some fresh markers in the harbor channel. The dredge is in, and they will start to clear the channel to make it more comfortable for blow boats soon.
 The Ospreys were out fishing.
Fossil hunting was tough, but I found a piece of stingray spine, and a few teeth
I met Ann up near the end of the walk. She is visiting the area from Wisconsin while her husband works on the gas docks project. She was looking for shark's teeth, and wasn't sure what they looked like (she was expecting white). Fortunately, I had one to show her, and explain what to look for.
A new butterfly for the year, the American Snout.
